My Approach To Therapy
Hi there, I’m Kaysyn and welcome to my page.
As a 1st generation, Asian-American, Queer person of color therapist, I take a collaborative and human approach to therapy. I believe that there is no “one-size-fits-all,” and I always aim to tailor my work to each person’s individual needs. My approach is influenced by intersectional/relational-cultural and psychodynamic perspectives. In short, I care about your experience spanning from your family history to present day and I hold it within the context of your various identities. Although my therapy framework varies from client to client, I always maintain my genuine personality in sessions and approach my clients with the same level of compassion, empathy, and authenticity. My main focus in the work is building trust and connection, while actively working to embrace your humanness, and my own, in session. As a 1st generation, Asian-American, Queer person of color therapist, I also attend to dynamics of power and oppression, marginalization and privilege in my work as well.
It is my belief that one of the main benefits of therapy is its capacity to help you get honest with yourself, whether that’s about what is wrong, what is causing you pain, what needs to change, or what you really want from life. My role as therapist is to help facilitate progress towards reaching a deeper level of honesty and understanding so you can work towards your goals as you define them.

Our initial sessions will be dedicated to assessing your current wellness and creating a personalized plan to fit your unique needs and goals.
Targeted
Everyone has pain points when it comes to achieving mental wellness. I’ll work closely with you to help identify and overcome your triggers.
Integrative
Since achieving wellness is more than just talk therapy, I’ll be guiding you toward other helpful practices such as mindfulness training, coping strategies and more.
